Project 2: punny valentine

The next project will use illustration to draw out simple food character emojis.  Each video below will cover certain foods so you can learn how to draw what you see.  Learning to draw simple shapes and details will help you stretch your abilities as you continue to practice.

The goal here is to create characters that you can pair up with pun phrases and make into Valentine's Day cards or notes for loved ones. 

What you will need:

​​​​​​

  • Large paper provided

  • Pencil + eraser

  • Colored pencils

  • Brushes

  • Water

  • Scissors

  • Glue stick

  • a Black marker

^^^ Watch the above video to learn how to create the fruit characters you see below.  You will draw, color, paint, trace, and then cut and glue if you are making cards/notes.

^^^  The above video will cover the food characters you see below.  You can draw all of them or only your favorites, it is totally up to you.

 

Once you are done, you can cut out each one and leave a white border.  You can then glue them to cards/notes and add the punny phrases shown. 

Share your art with someone special when you are done!
